I use gouache, specifically white gouache to do sunspots and highlights... and chrome. Chrome is fun

done so many renders in design school, so many in fact that my class mates and I started seeing the world in copic.... “that car is red 25 with blue 07 and pastel chalk magic purple.” good times lol. it just takes practice like hundreds of hours of practice! you’ll get it. I will see if I a few for you to check out as motivation! these are all from my 1st year. Markers and pastel.

Looks like you’re getting the hang of it. I got decent with Prismacolors a couple years back, but took my talents to Adobe instead.
